Dr. Jeffrey Lees is a Visiting Assistant Professor studying the psychology of misinformation through the Media Forensics Hub at Clemson. He completed his Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior and Social Psychology from Harvard University in 2020. Dr. Lees leverages insights from across the behavioral sciences to understand the antecedents of inaccurate beliefs and the negative consequences they hold for organizational, social, and political outcomes. He has been recognized as an Emerging Scholar by the Center for the Science of Moral Understanding for his work on how misperceptions drive political and moral conflict, work recently detailed in the Harvard Business Review. Dr. Lees is also the Founder of the Union of Democratic Laboratories, a scientific society dedicated to making the behavioral sciences more humane and equitable.
