Biography
-
Dr. Jason Mance Gordon joined the GGC faculty in 2012. His teaching philosophy is that theory is best understood through the application of practical skills. Students must internalize acquired knowledge through experiential learning and the relation of information to prior personal experience.
Prior to joining the faculty at GGC, Gordon taught Spanish conversation classes at The College of Charleston and, later, served as a teaching assistant for business communications, entrepreneurship and applied entrepreneurship at Emory Goizueta Business School.
Gordon’s past professional experience includes business law practice (solo practitioner), service in the United States Army JAG Corps (attorney-Captain), SCANA Corp (research assistant), and Todd & Ward, PC (law clerk). As a solo practitioner, Gordon has provided business and legal services to numerous entrepreneurs and small businesses. During his military service, he held positions as legal assistance attorney, officer-in-charge of the garrison tax center, military prosecutor, rule of law attorney (Mosul, Iraq), ethics advisor and legal advisor to the garrison commander. At SCANA Corp, Gordon spent two years conducting extensive legal research on corporate law issues. At Todd & Ward, PC, he worked extensively on small business formation and mortgage foreclosure actions.
