Jarrad Wright

Jarrad Wright is a qualified electrical engineer with an M.Sc Eng (Elec) and has recently finalised his Ph.D. at Wits University. He is also a registered Professional Engineer (Pr.Eng.) with ECSA and a member of SAIEE, CIGRE and IEEE. He has extensive power sector consulting experience in 11 African countries in generation, transmission and distribution of electrical power. He is currently based at the CSIR Energy Centre in Pretoria, South Africa as a Principal Engineer predominantly involved energy systems operations and planning, sector-coupling, system stability, resource forecast-ing, network planning, storage and enabling market arrangements. Jarrad is also a Commissioner on the NPC for the period 2015-2020 as appointed by the President of South Africa.
