Nyenrode Business University
Jan Bots is Professor of Controlling at Nyenrode Business Universiteit. He currently holds the position of Program Director of the Nyenrode Controlling program (Executive Master of Finance and Control and MSc Controlling). His research fields include Controlling, Information Management, and Information Economics. His teaching involves research in Accounting Information Systems, code of conduct for controllers, and thesis supervision.
He joined Nyenrode in 1990 and held various positions inside and outside Nyenrode before he joined the School of Accountancy & Controlling where he participated in the start-up of the Executive Master in Finance and Control program in 1997 and the MSc Controlling in 1998.
He works in close collaboration with the Association of Chartered Controllers.
Jan Bots studied Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in Production Engineering at Delft University of Technology (graduated in 1977). From 1977 until 1983, he worked at the EDP (Electronic Data Processing) department of Fokker aircraft company at Schiphol. He joined the Management Studies Group of Wageningen University from 1983 until 1992. He specialized in Information Management during these years. He received his PhD from Wageningen University in 1991.
