Cork University Business School
James Duggan is a PhD Scholar in the Department of Management and Marketing, Cork University Business School (CUBS), UCC.
Having completed an Undergraduate degree at the University of Limerick and Master’s degree at University College Cork, James held roles in several broadcasting and media production organisations prior to returning to education. Having been awarded a Research Scholarship, James commenced his doctoral studies at the Cork University Business School in early 2017. His research interests centre on the future of work and the gig economy, with a particular focus on the changing nature of the employment relationship within these domains.
James’ current PhD working title is ‘Working Relationships in the Emerging Gig Economy: A Psychological Contract Perspective’. During the first year of his PhD studies, James has attended and participated at several conferences and symposia, both nationally and internationally. Additionally, he has published articles with RTÉ Brainstorm and currently has a working paper under review with a leading academic journal.
