Biography

UNSW Business School

James joined the AirTree team from Accel Partners, the West Coast headquartered fund behind companies like Facebook, Dropbox, Slack, Etsy and Atlassian. At Accel Jame’s focus was on early stage companies in software, infrastructure, fintech and marketplaces, including Weaveworks, Simplivity (acquired by HP), Semmle, E8 Storage and Skipjaq.

Before joining Accel, James was based in Silicon Valley and founded and ran BipSync, a research management software that enhances investor productivity and simplifies hedge fund compliance, where I still serve as an Advisor.

James began his career in M&A law (@Freshfields) and also spent time in tech banking (@ Morgan Stanley). He studied law and comp sci at UNSW, and has an MBA from Stanford.

James is passionate about supporting the next generation of great Aussie and Kiwi founders. Building a company can be a long, slow and painful slog - but it doesn't have to be a lonely one.
