Biography

Fordham University

I am a social worker, therapist and educator based in Brooklyn. I graduated from Fordham University Graduate School of Social Service after spending many years as a theatre artist and a teaching artist in NYC public schools. I've worked specifically with LGBTQI folks for over a decade in housing support, educational and career training, and finally as a psychotherapist and counselor. I also sometimes teach and lecture at my alma mater.

My practice is a safe spot to talk about the past, fears, and major life transitions such as career, relationships, parenthood, gender identity or sexuality. I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help examine and evolve thoughts and feelings. I also use mindfulness tools to keep us rooted to the here and now. My style is warm, gentle and collaborative. I hold an anti-racist framework at my practice, welcome queer allyship discussions and I especially invite discourse for white folks grappling with white supremacy.

My reason for doing therapy with people? I've had great therapists. I've been through these processes and I believe in the effectiveness of change through many forms of therapy. What if we regularly made space for how life (and life in the pandemic) really is? And what if there was another person there to witness your process, who is absolutely dedicated to that time and to helping you heal? That is how I see our therapy sessions together. I will bring my creativity, my curiosity and my full presence, and hopefully we can chat about what you want and need today.
