Zicklin School of Business
Jack Clark Francis was born in Indianapolis, Indiana and received his Bachelors and M.B.A. from Indiana University. He enlisted in the U.S. Army, was commissioned as to be a Lieutenant, graduated from paratrooper school, was a Company Commander, and served on active duty for two years. After the service, he earned his Ph.D. in finance from the University of Washington in Seattle. Francis was a member of the finance faculty of the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Finance for five years. Then he was a Federal Reserve Economist for two years; he did monetary economics research, participated in monetary policy discussions, and spoke at numerous bankers meetings. Currently, he is Professor of Economics and Finance at Bernard M. Baruch College in New York City. Dr. Francis authored and co-authored over 20 books published by McGraw-Hill, Prentice-Hall; John Wiley & Sons; and Irwin Publishing Companies. Professor Francis’s research usually focuses on investments, banking, and monetary economics. Over 50 of his research articles have been published in refeered academic journals. He and his wife reside in Stamford, Connecticut.
