Henley Business School

Dr. Eduardo Ibarra-Olivo has a PhD in Economic Geography (2019) from the London School of Economics, holds an MSc in Local Economic Development (2014) from the same University and a BSc in Economics (2011) from Centro de Investigacion y Docencia Economicas (CIDE). In 2020, he joined the Henley Business School as Lecturer (Assistant Professor) in International Business and Strategy. In 2019, he won the EPAINOS Young Scientist Prize for best paper, awarded by the European Regional Science Association. His main research interests are Foreign Direct Investment (FDI), local labour markets, educational choices, human capital development and internationalisation strategies. His research focuses on emerging economies, in particular, Mexico. He has also been involved in research on FDI policy, systems of innovation, and international remittances. He has journal publications in Regional Science and Urban Economics, Economics of Education Review, Science and Public Policy, International Migration Review, Journal of Ethnic and Migration Studies and El Trimestre Economico. He has taught several courses on topics in Economics, International Business and Quantitative Research Methods.
