Presentation

Idas PhD project is driven by an interest in how fields as different as child protection and accounting merge and develop into professional practices in day-to-day work. By flattening the relationship between the economic and the social, she investigates how decisions to invest in social services are arrived at. The aim of this is to gain knowledge about how clients of social services receive the care, they need, even though the field has been under continuous economization since the 1990’s. Inspired by the reflexive sociology of Bourdieu, she works with ethnographic methods and constructivist social science theories under the umbrella of Science and Technology Studies, hereunder Actor-Network Theory.

Primary research areas

•    Management accounting as practice
•    Valuation practices in public sector settings
•    Welfare professions and accountability
