Biography

Ian Fenwick is a management educator, writer and marketing consultant. He is currently Advisor and Professor of Marketing at Sasin Graduate Institute of Business Administration (Bangkok and Phuket), Thailand’s first internationally accredited business school. He is also Professor Emeritus & Senior Scholar at Schulich School of Business, Toronto.

Co-founder of AnyPrep LLC , Professor Emeritus Schulich School of Business (Toronto) and Advisor at Sasin Graduate Institute (Bangkok). Based in Bangkok, Thailand, Ian has presented keynotes and led executive seminars on digital marketing for a wide variety of clients pretty much around the world; including China Europe International Business School (CEIBS), Geely Automobile Holdings, HKUST, Magellan Business School (Porto), Microsoft (Worldwide Partner Conference), Tencent Inc and Yili Industrial Group.

Ian is co-author of DigiMarketing: The Essential Guide to New Media and Digital Marketing published by Wiley & Sons, 2008. This was one of the first books to chronicle the dramatic shift in the world’s attention from traditional to digital media. Norman Pearlstine (Chief Content Officer, Bloomberg LP) hailed DigiMarketing as “the definitive guide to marketing in the digital age”. It is also available in native language editions in Japan, PRC, Russia, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Ian’s previous experience includes being a founding partner of digiAindra co ltd (a digital marketing consulting and app development house); serving for many years as Director of Canada’s top-ranked MBA Program (at Schulich School of Business, Toronto); Senior Branding and Marketing Consultant at The Business Generation Group Inc. (a Canadian branding and idea generation company); Senior Consultant to Market Facts of Canada Ltd.; and expert witness on market research and branding in Canadian provincial and federal courts. He has numerous scholarly, and not so scholarly, publications in many journals that no-one reads; and co-edited Consumer Behavior for Marketing Managers.

Born in England and also holding Canadian citizenship, Ian has a BA (Hons) First Class (Economics and Sociology) from Durham University and a Ph.D. from the University of London. He’s married with three children…all now grown, thank goodness.
