Fordham University
Hélène Godec has been teaching classical through contemporary theater and performance at Fordham since 2014. Each year she stages plays in French with students from the French and Theater departments. Since 2015, she has planned, organized, and co-organized masterclasses at Fordham with critically acclaimed directors and actors from France. Hélène Godec believes that acting in French provides a transformative experience for students both in their linguistic acquisition and in their willingness to present themselves in public fora.Hélène Godec was trained at Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Arts et Techniques du Théâtre (L’ENSATT) in Paris and at Sorbonne University. She is an accomplished actor who has performed in different theater productions in Paris and New York. She has played several film roles and leading and recurring roles in many popular French television series. In addition to acting and teaching, Hélène Godec provides training and guidance in effective public speaking focusing on techniques for connecting with and engaging audiences. Her passion for public speaking helped spark in collaboration with Andrew H. Clark, Fordham University’s Concours d’éloquence.
