Visiting Professor in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Arnie Charbonneau Cancer Research Institute in the Cumming School of Medicine at the University of Calgary

A visiting professor, Dr. Harry Peery has taught anatomy and assisted in the teaching of pathology to medical students at the University of Calgary. He has a strong interest in research that focuses on imaging small tumors below the 1-million cell mass limit to see metastases that trigger paraneoplastic neuroautoimmune encephalopathies.

He is also interested in paraneoplastic neuroautoimmune disorder and established a non-profit foundation, The Anti-NMDA Receptor Encephalitis Foundation, Inc., to help people with the disorder and to serve as a clearing house for physicians and patients who want more information.

Dr. Peery writes and contributes to textbooks, currently one in medical endocrinology and another in integrated sciences for medical and graduate students using pathology as the platform. He has also co-authored papers in genetics, Alzheimer disease, immunology and short papers on medical history. He holds a Ph.D. in Neuropharmacology from the University of Saskatchewan, a Master of Science in Microbiology from Ohio State University and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology and Microbiology from Syracuse University.
