Assistant Professor in the Management Entrepreneurship and Technology Department at the Lee Business School, University of Nevada Las Vegas

Biography

I am an Assistant Professor in the Management Entrepreneurship and Technology Department at the Lee Business School at the University of Nevada Las Vegas. I teach entrepreneurship courses. Below are the links to the course pages for the two classes that I am currently teaching. I try to share my classes in an open way, so feel free to visit these pages and see what we’re doing.

I completed a PhD in the Strategic Management and Organization Department of the Carlson School of Management at the University of Minnesota. My research and teaching has thus focused on entrepreneurship. I have been particularly interested in social entrepreneurship, or the formation of organizations to address social problems. For my dissertation, I focused on the creation of the carbon offset industry, which is an industry organized to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through projects in developing countries. I also have research on ordering of entrepreneurial resource acquisition, the formation of social businesses, the effectiveness of different training methods for entrepreneurs, and what helps entrepreneurs to be successful on Kickstarter. I feel lucky to be able to research, teach and do service in an area in which I really believe. See my Researchgate and Google scholar pages for more information on my published research.
