Biography

Stockholm School of Economics

Hanna Setterberg holds a Ph.D in Accounting from Stockholm School of Economics and a Bachelor degree in Political Science from Stockholm University. One of her research interests relates to the relation between stock market prices and accounting information, especially how the quality of the reported earnings affects how market participants react to this information. Other ongoing research projects relate to how personal characteristics are related to corporate outcomes and investor behavior.

She teaches financial accounting, financial analysis and corporate valuation in the Bachelor and Masters programs, as well as in Exective Education programs. During the last couple of years, she has developed an interest in ESG issues in relation to financial analysis and corporate valuation and integrated this in her teaching. This has inspired new research projects. She is now the lead researcher (through MISUM) in the Swedish part of a project called "Action Lab: Integrated Communications on Financial and Sustainability Performance". The aim of the project is to work with five Swedish firms and change the capital market conversation around quarterly earnings calls. The other part of the project is performed on US firms and coordinated by researchers at NYU.

In 2012, Hanna was awarded the Jan Wallander Scholarship, a 3-year full time post-doc scholarship given for outstanding thesis.
