Dr. Guojin Gong is an Associate Professor of Accounting at the School of Business of the University of Connecticut. She joined University of Connecticut in 2020 after spending fifteen years at the Smeal College of Business at Pennsylvania State University, where she has taught undergraduate, master, and doctoral level courses in financial accounting. She received a PhD in Accounting from University of Iowa, a M.S. in Economics from Washington University at St. Louis, and a B.A. in Economics from Peking University in China.

Dr. Gong’s research interests are in financial reporting and corporate governance, with a focus on executive compensation and disclosure choices. Her work has been published in leading academic journals such as The Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting and Economics, Journal of Accounting Research, Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Finance, and Management Science. She has won several awards for her research and is quoted in the press. She has served on editorial board of Contemporary Accounting Research and as an associate editor for China Accounting and Finance Review. She served as the president of the Chinese Accounting Professors’ Association of North America from 2018 to 2019.
