Smeal College of Business
Dr. Gregory Thomas is the Assistant Director of Geospatial Intelligence Programs in the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences with the Pennsylvania State University. In this capacity, he coordinates the geospatial intelligence option for the intercollege Master of Professional Studies in Homeland Security. Prior to this appointment, Greg worked in investigative and intelligence capacities for state government. He serves on the board of directors for the International Association of Law Enforcement Intelligence Analysts.
Greg has over 25 years of hands-on law enforcement and educational experience in intelligence. He has deep expertise in developing operational intelligence concerning criminal activities and training analysts in criminal intelligence work. Greg has wide-ranging practical experience providing team guidance on planning and developing intelligence and analytical products. In addition to Greg’s doctoral research in homeland security, he is a certified criminal analyst and author of published articles relating to criminal intelligence analysis, organized crime, and terrorism.
