Dr. Glenn Lamartin is vice president of defense affairs for the Land & Armaments operating group of BAE Systems, Inc. Previously, Dr. Lamartin was sector vice president of programs at Northrop Grumman Space and Mission Systems and a vice president of operations at its Defense Systems Division. For BAE Systems, Dr. Lamartin manages strategic relationships inside and outside of the company including the defense agencies, military services, and combatant commands. His focus is on understanding future security trends and market developments to help BAE Systems achieve long-term business growth. Dr. Lamartin has over 30 years of experience in the defense industry, across the entire product life cycle. His accomplishments include leading turnaround of troubled programs, revitalizing the practice of systems engineering across the Department of Defense, advancing missile defense capability, and fielding the first Tomahawk cruise missile system. Prior to his work at Northrop Grumman, Glenn served as a senior executive in the Department of Defense where he served as the director for defense systems for the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense (Acquisition, Technology and Logistics). There he handled a portfolio of 71 major acquisition programs including both strategic and tactical air, land, and sea systems. He also represented the U.S. government with allies to advance technology and develop weapons systems. Glenn holds a doctorate in public administration and master’s in systems management from the University of Southern California, as well as a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Maryland.
