Biography
George Brigandi is the director of the Master of Science in Sustainable Management program, and is also an instructor in the Department of Management & Entrepreneurship at the Driehaus College of Business. Additionally, Brigandi serves as the partnership and development manager at Current, Chicago's water innovation hub, where he focuses on creating new opportunities for engagement among Current’s diverse stakeholders, which include innovators, utilities, industry leaders, investors, researchers and non-governmental organizations. By growing Current’s community of members and collaborators, Brigandi enhances the organization’s reach and improves its ability to create value and impact. Current's work on H2NOW Chicago, the first real-time water quality monitoring project in the U.S. to measure microbial pollutants in an urban waterway, has made it one of the more anticipated sustainability projects in the city.
Brigandi has been working in marketing and business development for almost a decade. Prior to joining Current, he was the director of marketing at Urban Rivers, where he led their brand and public relations efforts for projects like The Wild Mile and Trashbot. He is a DePaul alumnus with an MBA in sustainable management and entrepreneurship, and holds a bachelor's degree in anthropology and history from Purdue University. Brigandi is a sustainability evangelist and frequently speaks at local, national and international events and conferences, such as Greenbuild and the Dubai International Project Management Forum. He is extremely excited to invigorate and teach DePaul students about sustainable business, particularly as it relates to Chicago, so that upon graduating they can go out into the Chicagoland area and do good. If Brigandi looks familiar, it may be that you saw him in DePaul’s “Here, We Do” video series about DePaul alumni.
