Biography

Following a 16-year career in the banking and financial field, Andonoplas started Frank Event Design, a full-service wedding and event planning company in 1993.

Andonoplas has received the designations of Professional Bridal Consultant in 1993, Accredited Bridal Consultant in 1996 and Master Wedding planner in 1999. Currently there are only 64 masters in the world. Frank has been the recipient of multiple awards including the Gala award from Special Events Magazine and 18 Chicago Excellence Awards for his work on weddings and corporate events. He was named event planner of the year in 2014 by Event Solutions/Catersource magazine. He was inducted into the Chicago Entrepreneurial Hall of Fame in 2015. He also is the recipient of the Association of Bridal Consultants Penner Award for passion and excellence in the wedding industry.

Andonoplas speaks all over the country on weddings and events trends. He has been featured on all local Chicago News stations, and nationally on Get Married, The Early Show and 20/20. His work has been featured in numerous magazines including Tradtional Home, Brides and Modern Luxury Weddings, in addition to wedding magazines in China, Japan and Poland. As an expert, The New York Times and Wall Street Journal have called upon him to be quoted in articles about current wedding topics. He is a past advisory board member of Special Event Magazine, and is currently on the advisory board of Wedding Planner Magazine. He also served as the Illinois State Coordinator of the Association of Bridal Consultants. In addition to the wedding and event industry, Andonoplasis an adjunct professor at DePaul University’s School of Hospitality Leadership.
