Biography

Bruce D. Fisher (LLM, George Washington University; JD, University of Michigan) is a Professor Emeritus with the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. Fisher has had a long and impactful career as a Business Law professor at the School of Business Administration, serving as a faculty member from 1968 until his retirement in 2010. His many noteworthy accomplishments while at the college include serving as a visiting professor at HEC Paris, the University of Michigan, the University of Florida, Stanford University and the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He authored multiple editions of several books, including “The Legal, Ethical and Regulatory Environment of Business,” which has had nine editions published. He also was a successful researcher, publishing more than 50 scholarly articles. Professionally, he served as president of the American Business Law Association and of the Southeast Regional Business Law Association.
