Background and Education

Fernando Parro is an Assistant Professor of International Economics at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Professor Parro has previously been Economist, and Senior Economist at the Federal Reserve Board. His research focuses on the trade and welfare effects of international trade policy, on the distributional effects of globalization, and on the dynamic labor market effects of changes in trade and migration policies. His research has been published in numerous journals including the Review of Economic Studies, and the American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics. He holds a BA and MA from the Catholic University of Chile, and an MA and PhD from the University of Chicago.
