After completing his legal studies at the Faculty of Law of the University of Barcelona in 1995, Fernando Garriga Ariño joined the discipline of the Procedural Law Area of said University, obtaining a PhD in Procedural Law under the direction of Prof. Dr. D Manuel Serra Dominguez.

Combining university teaching with the status of lawyer, Fernando Garriga Ariño, since 1999, has been developing the practice of law founding the firm Garriga Ariño Bufete de Abogados, initially specializing in Litigation, Commercial Law, Franchises and Horizontal Property. After the incorporation of Laia Vergés Cárceles in 2004, its field of specialization was extended to Industrial and Intellectual Property Law, as well as Family Law, and later, covering the field of specialization in comprehensive business advice, as well as Bankruptcy Law and alternative dispute resolution methods. With the incorporation of César Fusimanya, the office is completed with the specialties of comprehensive economic-fiscal advice.

In charge of teaching the course "Practicum II" together with Prof. D. Vicente Pérez Daudí in the academic years 2000-2001 to 2002-2003 and the subject Practicum III "Judicial prosecution of a credit" in the academic years 2004-2005 and 2005-2006. In charge of teaching a group of the subject "Civil Procedural Law" in the Law degree of the UB in the 2011-2012 academic year. In charge of teaching the subjects "Voluntary Jurisdiction", "Mediation" and "Civil Procedural Law" in the academic year 2012-2013. In charge of teaching the subjects "Mitjans Alternatius de Resolució de Conflictos", "Efectivitat de la Tutela Judicial", and "Master in Legal Practice" of the UB in the academic year 2013-2014.
  • In the 2013-14 and 2014-2015 academic years, he held the status of ESADE associate professor responsible for teaching the bankruptcy module of the "Master of Specialization in International Business Law".
