Biography

Fabiana DePaula joined ISU in the fall of 2018. Before coming to ISU, she taught for four years at Yale University and worked at Yale Office of International Affairs where she supported Yale’s initiatives in Brazil. She grew up in São Paulo, Brazil and has a diverse academic background. She completed her Master in Ethics at Yale Divinity School. In addition, she has a bachelor degree in Mechanical Production Engineering at Universidade Paulista in São Paulo, Brazil, and Master in Business Administration at Rollins College in Florida. Besides her professional experience, Fabiana served in nonprofit organizations in different roles. She was the Program Director at LARC (Latin American Resource Center) in North Carolina and Chair of the Board of Directors of r’Kids, a nonprofit organization that gives support to foster families in CT. At ISU, she currently teaches Accelerated Portuguese, Brazil Today, and Introduction to International Studies. She loves teaching and sharing her international experiences and continuously investigates the latest research-based teaching methods and theories and how to apply them in the classroom. She is faculty adviser of student organization named 7Elements Chapter.
