Eyal Tsir Cohen is a visiting fellow in the Center for Middle East Policy at Brookings. Tsir is currently on leave from the Israeli prime minister’s office, where he has served for the last 30 years in various senior positions. His career has focused on security and intelligence issues, and shaping policies and strategies on global terrorism. Tsir is the recipient of several awards in the Israeli civil service, including the Prime Minister’s Award for Excellence. He earned a bachelor’s degree in political science and international affairs from Bar-Ilan University in 2000, a Master of Public Administration from Harvard University in 2002, and was a doctoral student at the London Business School from 2007-08.
