Biography
Dr. Eugene B. McGregor, Jr., specializes in the interaction of public policy, organizational structure, and management practice. He has spent his career studying comparative approaches to complex public systems with an emphasis on strategic management and decision making. McGregor has authored more than two dozen published journal articles, reviews, and book chapters. Special research interests include the relationship between education and economic development and the impacts of information technology on the structure and management of public and nonprofit enterprise.
McGregor has been with SPEA since 1974. Over the years, he has served as director of the Joint Ph.D. program in Public Policy, director of SPEA''s Overseas Education programs, chair of policy and administration faculty, director of the Master of Public Affairs degree program, and visiting professor in the Netherlands at Leiden University and Erasmus University of Rotterdam. Consultancies have included the U.S. General Accounting Office, the United Nations'' International Seminar at the People''s Republic of China, National Academy of Public Administration, Indiana Department of Mental Health, Indiana Public Defender Council, and the Indiana House of Representatives Judiciary Subcommittee on Executive Branch Reorganization.
