Erin Morgan Gore is Adjunct Assistant Professor at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA). She also teaches at NYU’s Wagner Graduate School of Public Service and leads social impact strategy and partnerships at SYPartners.

Prior to joining SYPartners, Erin was the Head of Partnerships at Purpose, leading their new business, development, fundraising and collaborations. Previous to that role, Erin was the Senior Director of Strategy at Purpose and led their Nonprofit Practice.

Before joining Purpose, Erin was a manager in The Bridgespan Group’s New York office and a project leader in The Boston Consultant Group’s (BCG) Boston and Stockholm offices. Her experience includes work across a variety of social sector fields and topics, including youth services, philanthropy, education, advocacy, and veterans’ issues. Erin helped launch BCG’s own Social Impact Practice Group, aimed to combine the company’s private-sector expertise with their deep understanding of the world’s most pressing issues. 

Erin has spent time in rural Gujarat, India working with grassroots social workers to increase female educational enrollment and working with two children’s homes in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. She was asked to join The Mayor’s Fund to Advance NYC’s Young Leaders Committee and previously served as founding Chairman of Educators 4 Excellence’s Young Professionals Board.  

Erin is a regular contributor for the Stanford Social Innovation Review (SSIR). Recent articles include ”Nonprofits Should Lead the Sharing Economy,” “Crowdfunding for Nonprofits,” “Signaling and Confirming Metrics” and “Poverty’s New Home.”

She received degrees in business from The Wharton School and in English from the University of Pennsylvania.  She also holds a Masters of Philosophy in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge. She lives in Harlem with her spouse, son and two cats.
