Read more In 2004, Emma joined HSBC's investment banking division, where she has responsibility for Global Banking Compliance and Global Research Compliance and is a Managing Director.

Emma is focused on the careers of women at HSBC, both within Compliance and in the broader Group. She contributes to women's compliance and legal networking organisations across the City, mentoring junior lawyers and compliance professionals. Her goal is to increase the numbers of women in senior positions and to improve their promotion prospects, recognising that women are inadequately represented at the top of most organisations. She has run workshops in London, Hong Kong and China to help women to set their own goals and negotiate their careers, and has mentored over 50 women around the world, which has given her a profound understanding of what it is that holds women back.
