Emily Ulrich

Adjunct Professor at California College of the Arts / Executive Coach at TandemFolio LLC

Biography

I am invested in collaborating with people through life and work transitions times of impasse and indecision, opportunity and ambition. I have a hybrid coaching/ design thinking toolkit that specializes in getting people unstuck! I tailor my approach to the individual, as everyone has their own journey, their own pace... and when we find the path, joy and clarity As a design strategist and innovation manager, I'm accustomed to working with ambiguity and possibility. I've been a rigorous user researcher for 20 years, studying work and workers across many industries and roles, sitting down with people one-on-one to understand why they come to work each day. As a coach, I appreciate the opportunity to maintain that focus, to continue the conversation and inspire individuals along their personal journey toward a self-actualized future. In my corporate career, I was a founding member of an innovation team, adapting design research methods to business model concept iteration. My favorite part of the job was guiding others through the evolution of their concept ideas, and helping them apply insights about their users. I worked with and studied work ranging from Fortune 500 companies to start-ups, as well as academic and healthcare institutions.
