Emily Prinsloo is a PhD candidate in marketing at Harvard Business School. Emily received her BSc Summa Cum Laude in International Business Administration from Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, in 2015. Thereafter, she gained work experience at IBM, Simon-Kucher & Partners, and BMW. In summer 2017, Emily received her MPhil in Marketing with distinction from Cambridge Judge Business School, University of Cambridge. Prior to starting her PhD, Emily was a full-time research associate at Bocconi University.

Emily' research spans the consumer psychology and judgment and decision making fields. From consumers turning down (free) money to nonprofit organizations turning down (free) donations, Emily's research documents the hidden costs of opportunities, and how these costs influence decision-making. Her work has been published in Psychological Science and the Journal of the Association for Consumer Research.
