Dr. Elizabeth Muthuma is a sociologist with a specialization in Economic Sociology. She holds a PhD in Public Management from the University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa. She previously obtained a Masters in Environmental Science (with a focus on Environmental Policy and Management) from Murdoch University, Western Australia, and a Bachelor of Science (Zoology) from the University of Nairobi, Kenya. She has worked for over ten years in the NGO sector managing programmes in Humanitarian Aid and HIV/AIDS; Policy research and advocacy; Monitoring and evaluation. She has also worked as an independent consultant and researcher. Dr. Muthuma teaches in the MBA and Master’s in Public Policy programmes. Her courses include Research Methods, Public Management and an elective course in Public-Private Partnerships. She is currently the Head of the Student Research Office which is responsible for facilitating the progress and completion of research projects by Masters students. Her research interests include market and consumer research, service quality, public service delivery models, and public-private partnerships. She has published several articles in peer-reviewed journals.
