Biography

Professor Elizabeth Berger''s research is in the area of empirical corporate finance with applications to entrepreneurship, financial institutions, labor economics, product market competition, and causal inference. An assistant professor of finance at the Johnson Graduate School of Management, she studies the effects of financial institutions on labor market outcomes, stock price efficiency, and product market competition. Professor Berger received her PhD in finance from the Jones Graduate School of Business at Rice University and her BA and BFA in economics and vocal performance from Tulane University. Prior to her doctoral studies, she held positions at Western Southern Life Insurance Company in Cincinnati, Ohio, and Citigroup Smith Barney in New Orleans, Louisiana.
