Ej Wise

Principal at WiseLaw / Adjunct Professor at Deakin University

Biography

EJ is an internationally recognised lawyer and cyberlaw expert.

Prior to establishing Wise Law, EJ spent 25 years working in the legal industry with the Australian Federal and State Governments and in private practice. She has a specific focus in cyberlaw policy and advice, international humanitarian law, law of the sea, administrative law and criminal law.

EJ’s passion for cyber began in 1987 studying computer programming as part of an undergraduate Applied Science degree. Years working as in-house cyber legal counsel to the Royal Australian Air Force’s cyber squadron, as well as years working within the United States Air Force’s Operational, International & Cyber Law section in the Pentagon led to EJ’s decision to enter private practice as a lawyer practising in cyberlaw.

In September 2019, EJ was featured on an episode of the Beyond Billables Podcast: EJ Wise – Cyber Lawyer & Founder of WiseLaw.

The Beyond Billables podcast is a program featuring the lives of great lawyers, understanding how they embrace change, take advantage of opportunity, and build original careers. Listen here.
