Eduardo Dávila joined New York University Stern School of Business as an Assistant Professor of Finance in July 2014. Professor Dávila's research interests lie at the intersection of finance and macroeconomics, with an emphasis on normative questions. He has recently studied the optimal determination of transaction taxes, the optimal design of bankruptcy policies, the effects of bank size on financial fragility, the ideal design of joint liability arrangements among sovereigns and the welfare losses associated with fire-sale externalities. He was given the Top Finance Graduate Award 2014, recognizing him as one of the most promising financial economics Ph.D. graduates worldwide. Professor Dávila earned a B.A. in Economics from Universitat Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain, and an M.A. and Ph.D. in Economics from Harvard University.
