Duncan Maccourt

Duncan C. MacCourt, JD, MD, is the associate medical director of the McLean SouthEast Adult Psychiatric Programs and an instructor in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School. He currently serves as the attending psychiatrist for the McLean SouthEast’s adult partial hospital program. He is fellowship trained in cancer psychiatry, and publishes in the fields of medicine, psychiatry and the law. He teaches in the Harvard South Shore residency program and at Harvard Law School where he is a lecturer.

Current research interests include the impact of cognitive psychology and neuroscience on malpractice law, developmental themes in law, medicine, and literature, and the uses of language in law and medicine. Past research has included patient safety, tort reform, and emerging technologies in medicine.
