Doug retired from the Air Force in 2014 after 22 years of dedicated service, to take on the Directorship of the new Masters of Professional Studies (MPS) Degree in the Psychology of Leadership at Work. In the Air Force Doug’s position included Research Psychologist, Inspector General, Deputy Squadron Commander, Full Professor, Department Head, and Research Center Director. Doug has been stationed at various locations, including a deployment to Afghanistan where he was the Deputy Communications Director in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. His experience ranges from small units to large units, and he has held leadership positions at all levels. Doug received his PhD from The Pennsylvania State in Industrial/Organizational Psychology, an MS from the University of Texas at San Antonio in Experimental Psychology, and a BS from the United States Air Force Academy in Behavioral Science. His interests are in the areas of leadership, leadership development, leader/follower dynamics, and followership. He is an accomplished researcher and sought after speaker with over 80 publications and presentations on these topics. He is a Professor of Practice in the Department of Psychology and a member of the Graduate Faculty.
