Douglas Lindgren

Douglas Lindgren is an Independent Director of American Beacon Funds.

Doug Lindgren was CEO of Carne North America. A highly experienced and well-recognized leader in the asset and wealth management industries, Mr Lindgren leverages Carne’s outsourced fund management solutions and expertise around the world to help clients grow their businesses and reduce risks while allowing them to focus on their core areas of expertise. Mr Lindgren was previously a Managing Director and Global Head of UBS Wealth Management’s platform of investment funds, where he developed and managed the wealth management industry’s leading offering of investment funds. Under his leadership, the offering consistently outperformed relevant peer groups and benchmarks and grew to over US$300 billion in client assets. His global responsibilities included manager selection, product development, risk management, and distribution support. During his eleven years with UBS, Mr Lindgren held positions in New York and Zurich and was deeply involved in building, managing and distributing traditional and alternative investment funds through the UBS Global Wealth Management client franchise. The seven years he spent running global businesses out of Zurich provided him with invaluable insights into the distribution of funds in Europe and Asia as well as certain other developed and emerging markets. Prior to UBS, Mr Lindgren was a Managing Director at U.S. Trust where he built and managed their alternative investment business and before that, he was President and Managing Principal of Inco Venture Capital Management, a firm managing private equity funds on behalf of institutional investors. Mr Lindgren’s expertise spans virtually all asset classes and investment strategies and includes the management and distribution of numerous types of funds in various jurisdictions around the world, including registered funds (’40 Act, BDCs, UCITS and AIFs), private funds, and managed accounts. Mr Lindgren holds an AB in Economics from Columbia College and an MBA in Finance from Columbia Business School. He also served as an Adjunct Professor for 14 years at Columbia Business School, where he taught courses on various topics in the field of alternative investments.
