Doug Wood has extensive experience in complex aerospace system development, integration, and test, and in leading large teams and functional organizations. His program experience includes Space Shuttle, Tacit Blue, B-2, Pegasus, and Crew Exploration Vehicle. Mr. Wood’s expertise includes: digital fly-by-wire control system development, integration and test; avionics architecture development; complex system integration lab design, implementation and operation; and real-time pilot/hardware-in-the-loop simulation. As director of engineering for Northrop Grumman, Integrated Systems Western Region (ISWR), Mr. Wood established an organization with 2100 engineers at three sites supporting all ISWR programs, advanced design, and technology development. His responsibilities included development and deployment of engineering tools and processes across all programs.

As IPT leader for B-2 software, he was responsible for all B-2 on-board and lab software. He managed an organization of approximately 400 people plus four major subcontractors that achieved a Software Engineering Institute (SEI) Level 4 assessment. As director of test and evaluation, Mr. Wood was responsible for managing a variety of technology labs, including system integration, materials, structures, wind tunnels, and electromagnetic labs and ranges.

He holds a MS in systems management from the University of Southern California and BS in aeronautical engineering and mathematics from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo.
