Boston University
Doug Johnson works as a community organizer with the Boston Cyclists Union. Founded
in 2011, the Bike Union promotes cycling as a means of transportation through
infrastructure advocacy and education. By engaging with residents in neighborhoods
across the Boston area, the Bike Union has helped create a social movement that has
succeeded in making significant advances in road safety for users of all forms of
transportation.
Doug’s work focuses on organizing communities to win campaigns for street
infrastructure improvements. He serves on the City of Boston’s Vision Zero Task Force
and is a co-founding member of the Massachusetts Vision Zero Coalition.
