Background
Dr Champion joined Cranfield School of Management in 2016 as Reader in Information Systems and she is also Director of the Cranfield IT and Digital Leadership Programme. Her research focuses on the challenges of designing and managing large complex systems and she has developed tools to support the integration of new technologies into critical infrastructures. She is now applying this experience to the challenge of delivering products and services across digital ecosystems. Donna works with a number of social enterprises to support service quality and is currently exploring the challenges of scaling up collective enterprise. She is particularly interested in how sociotechnical collectives operate across planetary-scale networks in an imperfect world.
Previously Dr Champion was a Reader at Loughborough University. She joined there after completing her PhD in Information Systems Design as a lecturer in 2001 and held a number of leadership positions including Director of MBA Programmes where she was responsible for the strategic development and academic quality of all Loughborough University MBA programmes.
Donna is widely published with articles in the Journal of Information Technology, Information Systems Journal, the International Journal of Production Economics and Journal of the Operational Research Society.
