Biography

Antwerp Management School

I currently combine following responsibilities at AXA Bank Belgium: Enterprise Architecture, Technological Innovation, Integration Capability and chapter lead for analysts & developers. I am also part of the IT Management team and top managers of the bank (Council One). I hold a PhD in business engineering with a specialization in Management Information Systems. I have built up a strong experience in Enterprise Architecture and digital transformation through architectural positions and projects in financial services, mainly Retail Banking (including Loans) and Insurance. I am passionate about the pivotal role genuine Enterprise Architecture plays within organizations, certainly in times where agility is required. Genuine EA stands for a principle-based approach ranging from Business Model into Application landscape. Before joining AXA Bank, I have been working work for Accenture’s (Technology) Strategy practice with a focus on the Financial Services industry. Projects typically labelled as Strategic / Digital Transformation and IT assessments were my daily work area. Prior to Accenture, I was chief architect at Davinci, combining project work for customers with development of software products to manage Loans and Arrears back-office processes. This allowed me to gain an end-to-end perspective from business problem statement to software code. Furthermore, I am active as a professor at the University of Antwerp and the Antwerp Management School, in close collaboration with my PhD research group. I strongly believe the Normalized Systems theory brings the fundamental building blocks to design for organizational agility. Finally, I love to teach practice-oriented courses based on academic knowledge. Specialties: Enterprise Architecture, Strategy, Technological Innovation, IT Transformation, Digital Transformation, Normalized Systems, Enterprise Engineering, Service-Oriented Architecture, Business Process Design & Modeling
