Jones Graduate School of Business

Dennis L. Laraway, M.B.A., Chief Financial Officer. In September 2011, Mr. Laraway was appointed as the Chief Financial Officer for Memorial Hermann Health System. Memorial Hermann owns and operates eleven (11) hospitals across the greater-Houston area, including the nationally-renowned Memorial Hermann Texas Medical Center, Children’s Memorial Hermann Hospital, and The Institute for Rehabilitation and Research (TIRR). Memorial Hermann, the largest health system in Houston, operates an annual budget of approximately $4 Billion, and is nationally recognized for quality measures and clinical excellence. Memorial Hermann is the primary teaching affiliate to the University of Texas Health Science Center – Houston.

Prior to joining Memorial Hermann, Mr. Laraway served as Chief Financial Officer for Scott & White Healthcare, based in Temple Texas. Scott & White Healthcare owns, operates, or partners in: a network of twelve (12) hospitals anchored by Scott & White Memorial Hospital (one of the state’s largest academic medical centers); the state’s largest multi-specialty physician group practice model; and Scott & White Health Plan. Scott & White is the primary teaching affiliate to Texas A&M Health Science Center – College of Medicine.

Prior to joining Scott & White Healthcare, Mr. Laraway served as Vice-President & Chief Financial Officer for St. Joseph’s Hospital & Medical Center, Phoenix Arizona, part of Catholic Healthcare West (CHW, now Dignity Health) based in San Francisco, California. St Joseph’s operates Arizona’s largest academic medical center, and is home to the Barrow Neuroscience Institute – a world renowned center of excellence and holder of the Muhammad Ali Parkinson’s Research Center. Prior to joining CHW, Mr. Laraway served as the Chief Financial Officer for Seton Health, a multi-hospital healthcare system located in Troy, New York, and part of Ascension Health based in St. Louis, Missouri.

Mr. Laraway holds a Masters in Business Administration (1999) from the Lally School of Management at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute (RPI) in Troy, New York, and a BS in Accounting and Business Administration (1984) from King’s College, Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania. He also served as adjunct faculty for RPI in its’ health administration program, and as an affiliate faculty lecturer with Arizona State University’s – W.P. Carey School of Business. Mr. Laraway is an adjunct faculty member at Rice University’s Jones Graduate School of Business.
