Debbie Kaminer is a Professor in the Department of Law at the Zicklin School of Business, Baruch College (CUNY). Professor Kaminer’s scholarship focuses on employment discrimination, religion and the law and vaccination law. Her scholarship has appeared in journals including American University Law Review, Berkeley Journal of Employment & Labor Law, New York University Journal of Legislation and Public Policy, Stanford Law & Policy Review, Virginia Journal of Social Policy & the Law, The Texas Review of Law and Politics, UCLA Women’s Law Journal, University of Richmond Law Review, Wisconsin Law Review Forward, Health Matrix, The New York State Bar Journal and The Journal of Law Religion and State. She has published opinion pieces in outlets including USA Today, MSN, The Hill, New York Daily News, Bloomberg Law, New York Law Journal, Houston Chronicle, Chicago Tribune, The Conversation, PBS News Hour, Salon, Popular Science, NJ Star-Ledger and The Jerusalem Post.

Professor Kaminer has been invited to present her work at both international and national conferences. She has both signed onto, and her work has been cited in briefs to the United States Supreme Court. Professor Kaminer has provided subject matter expert commentary for publications including The New York Times, NBC News, Businessweek, Bloomberg Law, Bloomberg Law Show, Healthline, MarketWatch, Fox News, JAMA Ethics, ALM, Financial Times, and Vice.

She was named the 2021 Charles M. Hewitt Master Teacher by the Academy of Legal Studies in Business (ALSB), the international organization of law professors who teach in business schools. She twice won the Zicklin School of Business Teaching Excellence Award.

She received her B.A., cum laude from the University of Pennsylvania and her J.D. from the Columbia University School of Law. Prior to joining the faculty at Baruch, Professor Kaminer worked as an attorney at IBM and at a national civil rights organization. She is a certified mediator and has served as an arbitrator for FINRA (Financial Industry Regulatory Authority).
