Biography

My research primarily focuses on the impact of marketing activities and practices on the consumer, with significant attention on the policy issues surrounding food marketing. Some general topics are childhood obesity, food insecurity, nutrition information on menus, and a new project on the stigma of obesity. My interest in the area developed when I served as a visiting scholar at the Federal Trade Commission in the USA and contributed to a research project on children's exposure to television advertising, with particular emphasis on food advertising.

My research has been published in the Journal of Consumer Research, Journal of Retailing, Journal of Public Policy & Marketing, and Journal of Business Ethics. I am an Associate Editor for the Journal of Consumer Affairs and sit on the editorial board of the Journal of Public Policy & Marketing.
