Biography
David M. Stipanuk, professor emeritus, taught at the School of Hotel Administration from 1983 to 2008. His teaching responsibilities included courses in sustainable development, facilities management, hospitality risk management, and hotel development and construction. He also published articles on environmental issues for the lodging industry and on workplace safety benchmarking for travel and tourism. Most recently, he helped to prepare the American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA) Energy Management and Conservation Guide. He is a member of ASHRAE and the Executive Engineers and Environmental Officers Committee of the AH&LA. Stipanuk the authored or co-authored the following texts: Managing Hospitality Engineering Systems, Hospitality Facilities Management and Design, 3rd edition, and Security and Loss Prevention Management, 2nd edition.
