Strathmore Business School

Prof. David Sperling is a graduate of Yale and Harvard, and the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London. Prof. David C. Sperling has been teaching in Kenyan universities since 1989, first at the University of Nairobi and since 2001 at Strathmore University where he is currently Research Professor and Senior Research Fellow in the Strathmore Governance Centre. He has been a Visiting Fellow at the Institute for Social and Policy Studies, Yale University, and at the Harry Truman Institute, Hebrew University of Jerusalem. His current research interest concerns institutional governance and the jurisprudential dimensions of legal pluralism in East Africa. He has served on various boards in Kenya and East Africa and is a founding member of the Private Sector Corporate Governance Trust and the East African Association of Grantmakers, a member of the Regional (EA) Board of the Aga Khan Foundation, and a founding Executive Committee member of the Upper Hill District Association. He is also a Trustee of the Mukuru Trust and the Managing Trustee of the Rahimtulla Trust. Prof. Sperling teaches Governance and Ethics in the MBA Programme of the Strathmore Business School.
