Biography

David Meyer is a semi-retired information technology critical systems management professional. Mr. Meyer is an expert in IT process management and refinement and spent over a decade managing the web and database systems that support key elements of medical education in the U.S. (e.g., the MCAT medical school qualification exam, the AMCAS medical school application system, etc.). He has recently worked as a management consultant at the U.S. EPA where he served as the lead IT process expert for the their multi billion dollar central IT unit; helping them to re-engineer their service transition and service design processes. He spent 12 years at the Nature Conservancy where he led the creation of their first websites, web applications as well as their first local and wide-area networks.

Mr. Meyer has served as a local community leader on individual healthcare coverage reform. He created and led a nonprofit corporation dedicated to improving access to and education about health coverage available under the new healthcare reform law. Mr. Meyer received a volunteer of the year award in 2015 for this work from key community stakeholders and has appeared frequently on local radio and TV and other media as an expert in the effective local implementation of healthcare reform. He is a popular speaker on this topic.

Through the healthcare initiative he has mentored a number of students in SPEA that have served as both interns and volunteers to the non-profit organization that he led. He enjoys following soccer, keeping up on technology, experiencing the outdoors, engaging in travel and contributing to local community-building.
