Biography
Smith School of Business
Dr. Love is an Adjunct Professor at Queen's University where he taught in both the Department of Mining Engineering and the Department of Geological Sciences and Geological Engineering.
He received his B.Sc. and M.Sc. from the University of Waterloo, and Ph.D. from Queen's University, where he examined the Mount Skukum Epithermal Gold Deposit and its Geological Setting, Yukon, Canada. He completed two industrial post-doctoral fellowships at Queen's: one examining the geology of the giant Antamina Cu-Zn skarn ore deposit, Peru; and the second comparing the geotechnical, geological and ore-grade characteristics of porphyry copper ore deposits.
David's area of expertise is economic geology with emphasis on mineral exploration and the geological and mineralogical aspects of ore deposits. Throughout his 36-year career, he has carried out a wide range of geological consulting activities in the mineral exploration industry in Canada and abroad.
He also consults on geology and soil geochemistry and the application of statistics to it in environmental clean-up operations.
