Jerreed Ivanich is a Nonresident Senior Fellow in Governance Studies at The Brookings Institution. As a member of the Metlakatla Indian Community (Tsimshian) of Alaska, Dr. Ivanich is dedicated to health research for North American Indigenous (Alaska Native, American Indian, First Nations, Native Hawaiian) populations. He is an Assistant Professor at the Colorado School of Public Health, Centers for American Indian and Alaska Native Health and an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Center for American Indian Health. His work meets at the intersections of prevention science, social network analysis, and adolescent health. Through community-based participatory research, Dr. Ivanich aims to take the knowledge and strengths of communities and put them in dialogue with the broader research field to improve public health and advance scientific methods.

When Dr. Ivanich is not working, he loves spending time with his wife and two amazing daughters. They all enjoy finding local places to eat, especially local desserts and they love to watch movies together as a family. As a solo hobby, Dr. Ivanich Recently picked up road cycling and loves that this allows him to connect to nature while exercising.
