New York University Abu Dhabi
Blakeslee’s research spans a variety of topics pertaining to rural development. He has authored papers on household adaptation to water access, and the effects of growth in the non-agricultural sector on the livelihood strategies of agricultural household. His research also covers topics in political economy, including: the effects of political ideology on policy outcomes, and the economic and non-economic drivers of crime in low-income countries. In addition, he works on education in South Asia, with an interest in the role of private education markets.
